I am a physician specializing

in mental health care for older adults

Are you experiencing…

  • Stress related to life transitions — retirement, shifting roles, changing social circles, empty nest syndrome, tension with adult sons/daughters/in-laws, dysfunctional family dynamic among different generations living at home?

  • Anxiety, hypervigilance, nightmares, emotional numbing from traumatic events?

  • Low drive, low motivation, loss of interest, difficulty concentrating in context of medical problems — both chronic and new onset — such as stroke, heart attack, brain changes?

  • Caregiver burnout? Trying to care for an older adult who can no longer care for themselves but you feel you are drowning in their challenges, leaving little time to care for yourself?

  • Difficulty managing the behavior of those you care for with memory loss and dementia?

What do I offer?

With my two decades of clinical experience, I provide expert guidance and support tailored to the unique mental health needs of older adults.

At Silver Mountain Psychiatry, I understand the complexities that come with aging, including cognitive decline, emotional challenges, and the effects of chronic illness. I employ evidence-based approaches to enhance the well-being of our clients, emphasizing compassion and respect.

If you or a loved one are experiencing difficulties, we offer comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions, and medication management designed to foster a better quality of life. Together, we can navigate the journey towards improved mental health, ensuring that every individual feels heard, understood, and empowered.

How do we accomplish this?

Together at our first visit, we

  • take a detailed inventory of symptoms, your mental health/family/social histories

  • identify your target symptoms

  • determine your goals

  • formulate and customize your treatment plan — involving medication or behavioral approaches, or both

  • collaborate with caregivers to those with dementia and mood/behavior changes — I investigate your challenges and tailor a personalized behavioral approach with techniques to reduce stress. Goal is to minimize the use of sedative medications

It is recommended but not required to have a trusted care partner to be present for appointments. Why? To ask important questions, seek guidance, take notes, and more importantly — offer you support.

Outcomes and Desired Goals?

  • Overcome crippling anxiety, negative self talk and improve your ability to manage stress

  • Reclaim confidence, purpose, and joy

  • Build a sense of direction, feel confident in making decisions, more grounded in your interpersonal or professional relationships

  • Elevate the skills of caregivers to those with brain and personality changes. Improve interpersonal satisfaction by learning techniques in de-escalating mood outbursts, improving your loved one’s cooperation in their activities of daily living

What is the core of my practice philosophy?

Simply put — to help you

  • thrive emotionally

  • restore your mental vigor

  • fortify your motivation

  • regenerate your interest in your activities of daily living

When we collaborate, we are greater than the sum of our parts.

Your mental wellness is my top priority. I look forward to meeting you.
